Igor Stravinsky wrote “Pastorale,” a brief vocalise, in 1907, having composed it at his family’s estate in Ustilug, Ukraine. In 1933 he made a couple of different transcriptions. I’m offering a performance by members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by that sorcerer of sound, Leopold Stokowski. Follow this link to the YouTube posting.
