Being a composer, naturally I was captivated by β€˜The Music of Erich Zann’ and while working in the NYU music studios and crafting my own experimental pieces, I conceived of a sequel to this haunting tale. I thus wrote up β€˜Zann’s Reprise’ in the late 80s, probably somewhere between 86-88. It was just something fun and I did not then disseminate itβ€”though I still have the print out from my Commodore 64 in a folder with other writings from that period. In 1995 I was invited to contribute a story to a short-lived Cthulhu Mythos fiction fanzine, and so my sequel was released to the world. Now, over three decades after it was written, I’ve gone back to this story and blown off the cobwebs and done a little polishing so that in celebration of my 60th birthday I can present this story once again as a gift for those who are interested in my fictional efforts.”—Magus Peter H. Adversary Recordings released this CD in 2003, containing 10 tracks of electronic orchestral music by Peter H. Gilmore, current High Priest of the Church of Satan. The tracks were originally for various sources, from b-grade horror movies to a ballet. Some of the tracks were used in the documentary Death Scenes 2, released in 1992. Directed by Nick Bougas, it was the follow-up to the first film that was narrated by the former High Priest, Anton Szandor LaVey. Magus Gilmore’s music is an electronic symphony, playing on the themes of misanthropy, destiny, and triumphal marches. The artist Stephen Kasner has produced all original artwork for the cover, booklet and traycard of the release. This work is quite impressive, and a fitting accompaniment to the music.
