In response to the news that Azealia Banks announced that she’s been sacrificing chickens in her practice of brujeria by posting photos on her instagram account, ignorant people are labeling this satanic. We would like to clarify this—for the record—by pointing out that sacrifice, animal or otherwise, has no part of Satanism. Harming animals is specifically forbidden in our 11 Satanic Rules of the Earth and since Satanists deify ourselves we have no need to make offerings to fictional entities. As always, it’s theism that sacrifices others to its ends, from animals to people who believe differently.
