THE SECRET LIFE OF A SATANIST — EXPANDED EDITION

The Secret Life Of a Satanist The Authorized Biography of Anton Szandor LaVey By Blanche Barton An insider’s view of the iconoclastic man who founded the Church of Satan and wrote The Satanic Bible. After the original publication of this biography in 1990, Anton LaVey and Blanche Barton fought through the “Satanic Panic” together, guiding the Church for another seven years. In this revised, expanded edition, Barton takes you inside the walls of the fabled Black House to candidly share her experience of LaVey’s struggles and triumphs during his final years. SATANISM DOWN UNDER

Our Warlock Marquis HK has been interviewed recently by the media in Australia: Warlock Marquis HK on Life in Australia’s Church of Satan Dispelling the Satanic Myths (video not currently functioning)

Comedy 3.0

In the USA, there is much brouhaha concerning a federal grant for over $700,000 toward the development of computer software that writes jokes. The fundamental mechanics of humor are exploited by both pioneering comedians and the hacks who haunt what LaVey called “the dismal world of comedy clubs.” (“‘T’ Ain’t Funny, McGee,” Satan Speaks!) Yet consistently successful humor is the still-elusive holy grail of artificial intelligence, which grows ever closer to replacing the most productive aspects of your average human. By automating not only human tasks, but personalities, we can highlight and more freely enjoy the truly unique elements of […]

Making Love With Living Dolls

As Anton LaVey predicted decades ago, many humans (especially our more lustful Satanic brethren) will be taking artificial companions as lovers. Well, according to think tank Pew Research Center’s newly released study, “AI, Robotics And The Future Of Jobs,” making love to our “Living Dolls” will happen by 2025. With the advent of teledonics and haptic technology already here, it’s no surprise that one expert said these new tech sexbots will know our every need. The field has even gotten it’s own moniker—“lovotics.” We like to call it satisfaction of good ol’ fashioned horniness…without the drama. —Hef With Horns

“The Great Satan” Rescues “Devil Worshippers”

The United States’ militia has assisted Yazidi refugees—a sect long reviled for misperceived “devil worship” by Muslims and Christians—to escape from Mount Sinjar where they fled persecution by the extremist Islamic State militants. Some still remain near their shrine at the summit. Magus Anton Szandor LaVey paid the Yazidis tribute with a meditative ritual based on their sacred texts published in his THE SATANIC RITUALS (1972) celebrating their peacock angel, Melek Taus. Religious persecution of those deemed to be devotees of The Devil by theists is quite active in the 21st century—some things never seem to change. —Magus Peter H. Gilmore

The Secret Conversation

Men say, “uh,” and women prefer, “um,” according to a recent study of conversational filler words. It seems that, in many cases, “uh” is used by men to prevent others from speaking, while “um” shows that a woman might be listening or thinking. This is in keeping with the gender contrasts explored most unabashedly in Anton LaVey’s The Satanic Witch. So if an outwardly macho man says “um,” that could be your secret clue that he’s hiding a more sensitive side. That’s what we call, uh, Lesser Magic. —Warlock M. Mandrake

50 SHADES OF FORBIDDEN

It’s no surprise that the recent debut of the trailer for the film adaptation of the “50 Shades of Grey” novel has generated predictable buzz, what with millions of online views, spotlighting the great unwashed masses’ never-ending lust for the deliciously dark, albeit forbidden pleasures of the flesh—this time BDSM style. Despite the ad nauseum of the mainstream phenom, the sordid interest does underline what Satanists instinctively know and celebrate on a daily basis. We are carnal creatures that embrace the pleasures of the flesh. And more importantly, accept even that which is often considered taboo and outside of the […]
